This 1-day course is a pre-requisite to the following Mastership in Laser Dentistry course modules, such as Diode Lasers and Erbium Lasers, and optional examination and graduation module, with the additional option to upgrade to the Master Professional Degree course at Sigmund Freud University.
Lasers in Dentistry is one of the most advanced technologies in the world, and the innovative treatment methods of laser therapy includes risks for practitioners and their teams, as well as for patients, if fundamental technical, biological and physical information about the application and laser safety measures are not sufficiently known, understood and implemented.
*In certain countries, laser use in dentistry requires a Certified Laser Safety Officer.
This course prepares you for the safe use of lasers, teaching the most important facets of laser physics and laser-tissue interaction. With examples, we clarify the safety precautions needed in the use of lasers in everyday dental practice. We teach statutory regulations, demonstrate their implementation in practice and describe laser application fields. After passing the examination you receive the “Laser Safety Officer” certificate.
Our laser safety courses meet the requirements of the trade associations for obtaining expertise as a Laser Safety Officer. They are officially recognized according to the guidelines of orientated to EN 60825-1 and ANSI Z136.1. The German founded course is built upon the suggested curriculum of the German regulations OStrV and TROS “Laserstrahlung”.
